The School of Art offers the MFA in visual art with an emphasis in glass. Through concentrated study and experimentation, you will focus on your development as a professional artist.

What You Will Study

Your graduate coursework will be guided by your personal inquiry and augmented by close contact with your committee of faculty who you chose. Through your interactions with faculty and peers, you will explore ideas and techniques, interact with visiting artists and critics, and broaden your technical, aesthetic, and conceptual understanding of media within contemporary practice.

Graduate Assistantships in the School of Art

Working as a graduate assistant will give you meaningful, hands-on experience as you work alongside our expert faculty while helping pay for tuition. We offer both fulltime (20-hour) and part-time (10 hours) assistantships. Find a position.

To be considered for Ball State's graduate program, you must have earned an undergraduate degree in animation, film, art, graphic design, illustration or other visual art areas. Admission is granted once a year. Using a cohort model of instruction, the coursework begins in the fall semester. There are no spring or summer admissions.
