Since 2002, LDI has been building the demonstration capabilities of the LandLab (envisioned in 1996, conceptually designed in 2002) as sustainable design and resource-balance learning laboratory. It has been developing partners (regional, state, national and international) that are likewise committed to connecting people to sustainable solutions. The LDI had also been building its global EFS network on the Universities Global Media Network.
Together these provide unique opportunities for immersive learning in linked sites including field site habitat, future regenerative built-sites associated with the LandLab, classrooms and computer rooms in the future environmental education building located on-site, the main campus of Ball State, and sustainability sites and partners across the U.S. and internationally.
