Billie Wolfe
Director of East Central Indiana Area Health Education Center
Billie Wolfe, MBA, is an administrative healthcare professional, serving as the Director of the East Central Indiana Area Health Education Center (ECI-AHEC) hosted at Ball State University (BSU) in Muncie, Indiana. Since joining ECI-AHEC in 2023, Billie has spearheaded an era of transformative growth, focused on cultivating student interest in health professions pathways, training students in clinical and community settings, recruiting students into health professions positions, and retaining a high-quality health professions workforce across east central Indiana. Her focus is on efficient and effective solutions for healthcare in rural communities, aimed at a patient-focused interprofessional approach to healthcare. Billie has been collaborating with both secondary and higher education institutions, healthcare providers, health departments, other community organizations, and community members from Adams, Blackford, Delaware, Grant, Huntington, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Wabash, and Wells counties.
Since 2023, Billie has been an active member in the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA). She has attended several IRHA training sessions and conferences to learn more about the advancing the health and wellness of rural Indiana communities through strong leadership, education, advocacy, teamwork, and resource growth.
During the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA) grant from 2023 to 2026, Billie was instrumental in not only ensuring a consistent history of meeting its performance metrics but significantly exceeding all initial projection. Despite heightened regulatory challenges, she achieved unprecedented growth. In our final year, she successfully supported social work and counseling psychology students representing a 1,200% achievement rate.
Serving as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Family Medicine with Indiana University School of Medicine since 2024, Billie recruits and coordinates family medicine physicians to serve as preceptors and places third year medical students for their family medicine clinical rotations in rural communities. She has also been serving on the Nursing Advisory Board for Ivy Tech Community College Muncie, the Anderson D26 Career Center Advisory Board, and the CCMA Advisory Board for Delta High School since 2023.
Billie Wolfe obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2019 from BSU. She then completed her Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Health: Economics, Policy, and Administration at BSU in 2021. She received her Graduate Certificate in Adult and Community Education 2026. Billie is committed to utilizing her experience and education to assist with ensuring students’ successful completion of health professional programs, connecting students to careers, professionals to communities, communities to better health, and inspiring those around her to learn and make a difference.
