Project Summary
The Applied Archaeology Laboratories (AAL) of Ball State
University (BSU), in collaboration with the Fort Recovery Historical Society, Ohio
Historical Society (OHS) and Ohio Historic Preservation Office (OHPO), is proposing
a series of community and stakeholder meetings to build community consensus for
the amendment of a National Register of Historic Places nomination for the
battlefield of the Battle of the Wabash and the Battle of Fort Recovery. Data and community interest from the ABPP
2010 grant project will be the foundation of this Planning & Consensus
Building project. BSU will develop and
submit a National Register nomination that best fits the preservation goals and
development objectives of the community to the Ohio Historic Site Preservation
Advisory Board for review at their November 2013 meeting.
