Juan Zhang, assistant professor of insurance, received her Ph.D. degree from Temple University. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on loss reserving, solvency regulation, catastrophic risk and resilience, and insurance economics. She has published in Health Economics and Natural Hazards, as well as a peer-reviewed chapter in the book Hurricane Risk in a Changing Climate Dr. Zhang teaches courses in commercial insurance, life and health insurance, enterprise risk management, and claims handling. She is an Associate member of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the Risk Theory Society, and a member of the American Risk and Insurance Association.
