Research Areas

Haydee Encarnacion Garcia is an accomplished public health practitioner and teacher. She completed post-doctoral training at the University of Illinois-Chicago through a fellowship with Midwest Latino Health Research Training and Policy Center. Dr. Encarnacion Garcia then worked 9 years as a public health analyst for the US Department of Health and Human Services in the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) in the Chicago regional office. She returned to academia, serving as an interim dean in Puerto Rico, then held positions at Indiana Wesleyan as graduate program director for the Public Health masters, and at Taylor University as a full professor. She also taught for University of Arizona Global. At Ball State, Dr. Encarnacion Garcia will teach public health courses, including population, race, & culture in public health and introduction to public health. She will also contribute to the self-study for the re-accreditation of the standalone baccalaureate program in Public Health.
