Online Attribute
If you are advising a student who has requested a desire to take courses online for a given semester (an online attribute), we may be able to help. Reach out to us at online@bsu.edu with the following information:
- Student name and ID number
- Specific reason for request
- Semester the attribute is needed
- An agreement to continue advising this student
If this student wishes to change majors to one of our online offerings, please have your student complete the appropriate change of major form with Academic Advising. Our office will be in contact with the student once the change of major form has been completed.

Webinars
Our division hosts several interactive livestreams throughout the academic year to connect online students with valuable campus resources and information. Recordings of our livestreams are available on YouTube. Contact us to request a link.
Online Orientation
Online-only students have a specialized orientation to prepare them for their studies including information on what to expect, how online learning works, as well as information on how to get their Ball State credentials and learn more about academic learning. View the online orientation.
