Survivor Support Services
The Center for Survivor Support exists to give Ball State Students inclusive, survivor centered support, through confidential advocacy. We respond to the impact of interpersonal violence and strive to create a community free from violence through education.
Survivors have many options and we want to help connect you to them. To make an appointment with a Victim Advocate, call 765-285-3775 Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You may also email survivorsupport@bsu.edu. If an Advocate is unavailable and you need to talk to someone immediately (privately), you may call:
- Ball State Counseling Center at 765-285-1736 (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm);
- A Better Way’s crisis hotline(24-hour/confidential) at 765-288-HELP; or
- National Sexual Assault Hotline (24-hour/confidential) at 800-656-HOPE.
After business hours, a Victim Advocate is available for emergencies by calling the Ball State University Police Department’s dispatch (765-285-1111) and requesting to speak with the on-call Victim Advocate. You will need to provide your phone number and a name/alias so the on-call Victim Advocate can call you back. You do not need to give details regarding your emergency and your call will not initiate a report with the police.
