As Associate Director for Industry Engagement, Chrystal Pearson works to strengthen connections between Ball State University and communities across Indiana. She leads initiatives that help communities engage with Ball State students, build awareness of opportunities throughout the state, and develop talent pipelines that encourage graduates to live and work in Indiana.
Chrystal leads Ball State's County Ambassador Program, which connects students with their home communities and gives Indiana counties a student-led presence on campus. She also works collaboratively with campus and external partners to develop resources and engagement opportunities that expand the University's relationships with industry and communities throughout the state.
Before joining Ball State in 2024, Chrystal spent more than 15 years in nonprofit leadership, government relations, and community engagement. Her experience includes leading organizations and programs, developing partnerships, and working with local, state, and national stakeholders to advance community-focused initiatives.
Chrystal is a Muncie native and Ball State alumna. She graduated from Muncie Central High School before earning her bachelor's degree from Ball State. She has raised her three daughters in the community and is proud to now serve the University and state that have played such an important role in her own life.
