Our purpose is to connect all of our partners, integrate curricular and co-curricular experiences, and empower students to have fulfilling careers and lead meaningful lives.

The Ball State Career Center believes higher education has a moral imperative to ensure every student receives the career learning, guidance, and network connections they need to thrive. Career readiness is not just an optional service or a standalone center—it is a shared, campus-wide commitment integrated throughout the entire student experience.

Through career coaching, building relationships with faculty and employers, leading the on-campus student employment experience, and deploying innovative and impactful programs, we leverage intentional partnerships across academic colleges, employers, alumni, and community leaders to build and maintain a scalable, holistic career and connection ecosystem.

With a talented team and many national, local, and regional awards and recognitions, our team is ready to connect, integrate, and empower.

Career & Connection Ecosystem

Ball State’s Career and Connection Ecosystem is led by the Career Center and is a university-wide network of partnerships, programs, and experiences designed to help every student thrive before and after graduation. Rather than relying on a single office or program, the ecosystem connects students, faculty, employers, alumni, industry partners, and campus leaders through intentionally integrated curricular and co-curricular experiences.

From career coaching, on-campus employment, and the Indiana Connection Lounge to Skills Infusion, Faculty Externships, career readiness initiatives, and experiential learning opportunities, each component works together to help students build durable skills, expand their professional networks, gain meaningful experiences, and discover pathways to fulfilling careers.

By embedding career readiness and social capital building throughout the student experience, the Career and Connection Ecosystem ensures that all students, regardless of background or major, have equitable access to the relationships, opportunities, and support needed for lifelong success.
