The Ball State Opera Theatre program presents its 10th annual Opera Gala at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at Sursa Performance Hall in Ball State’s Music Instruction Building.

This year’s gala celebrates a decade of Ball State Opera’s excellence and showcases the talent of students, faculty, and alumni. This signature event highlights the University’s commitment to training professional performers and fostering community engagement.

“The Opera Gala is always a wonderful opportunity to see our faculty and students dressed to the nines while performing some of opera’s greatest hits,” said Dr. Jon Truitt, the University’s director of opera and professor of music performance (voice). “This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate the gala’s 10th anniversary by welcoming alumni who have gone on to professional careers in music back to the Ball State stage.”

Scheduled to appear at this year’s gala, along with the University’s students and faculty, are Ball State alumni Alexander Gushrowsky, Emma Nossem, Rachel Weinfeld, Rachel Spodek, Alexandra Billhartz, Kaitlyn Daily, Maggie Smith, and Rory Wallace.

Gala tickets can be purchased in person at the College of Fine Arts box office located at Sursa Performance Hall. Patrons can also buy tickets at tix.com or by phone at 765-285-8749. Ticket prices and other information are available online.

Parking is available in the McKinley Parking Garage located immediately south of Sursa Hall. The entrance is on Ashland Avenue. Parking in this garage is free on weekends.
