Volunteer during united way day of action

Ball State University faculty and staff donated approximately $182,000 to support the United Way of Delaware County in 2018. With matching grants from the Ball Brothers Foundation and Indiana United Ways, the campaign’s impact is more than $267,000.

The 2018 on-campus campaign, which took place from September 19 to November 30, exceeded the $157,000 raised in 2017. In 2018, a record 91 donors were leadership givers, who made contributions of $500 or more.

Ball State President Geoffrey S. Mearns said he was grateful to the Ball Brothers Foundation and the Indiana United Ways for encouraging employees to increase their giving in 2018.

“And I am grateful to each and every employee who chose to support United Way’s impactful work in our county,” he said. “Their participation helped us achieve the United Way of Delaware County’s mission: an engaged and mobilized community where individuals and families have opportunities to achieve. Together, our financial gifts, our volunteer efforts, and our passionate advocacy are helping improve the health, education, and financial stability of our friends, neighbors, and colleagues living in Muncie and Delaware County.”
