Ball State's opt-in text messaging service enables students, faculty, and staff to receive emergency bulletins from the university via their cell phones as part of the university's emergency alert system. The system is used during imminent situations when speed is paramount to ensure public safety. It is also used when classes are canceled or the campus is closed.

To sign up, go to the Communications Center and select "Manage emergency notifications." If your cell phone number or provider has changed, visit the Communications Center to update your contact information. It's easy and it only takes a few minutes.
