Ball State's
Department of Theatre and Dance will present "The World Goes 'Round" June 14-17 and June 20-23 at the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St. in downtown Muncie.
"The World Goes 'Round" is a rousing musical revue set in New York and features many of the best-known songs by composer John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb, whose successful partnership created tunes for long-running Broadway standards as "Chicago," "New York, New York" and "Cabaret."
Harold Mortimer, Ball State's musical theatre program coordinator and a Fulbright Scholarship winner, will direct the dinner theatre production. It will feature choreography by Michael Worcel, assistant professor of dance, and musical direction by Ball State graduate student Michael Lister. Equity actress Dwandra Lampkin, a Ball State assistant professor of theatre, is the featured faculty artist.
Ball State's College of Fine Arts and the Department of Theatre and Dance are sponsoring the production, and proceeds will go toward the department's scholarship fund.
Dinner service begins at 6 p.m. for evening shows and 1 p.m. for Sunday matinees. Carino's restaurant will cater. A cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. for evening shows and 12:30 p.m. for Sunday matinees.
