The Ball State community can vote for the Daily News which is a finalist in two categories in the U.S.News & World Report "Best College Newspapers of 2006" online competition.

The campus newspaper's podcast is a finalist in the "Best Alternative Media Outlet" category. The podcast is a daily audio update that delivers a newscast via iTunes and MP3 on bsudailynews.com.

Editor-in-Chief David Studinski, a senior from Fort Wayne, is also nominated in the "Best College Paper Columnist" category for "Bewildered Society."

The contest is the first for U.S.News and World Reports' "Paper Trail," an online blog about college news and the media that covers it.
