A $100,000 gift from Ken White, of Hoboken, N.J., will support incoming freshmen within Ball State's Miller College of Business.

The White Merit Scholarship was created in memory of Ken's parents, Edith and Carlos White, who believed honest, hard work should always be respected and rewarded.

Preferred scholarship recipients are incoming freshmen within the Miller College of Business who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or an SAT score of 1,500 on the new scoring system. Preference will be given to students with financial need whose parents are not college graduates.

The scholarship is renewable for three years if the student maintains a 3.25 grade point average.
