Study: Immigration stabilizes counties’ ‘dangerous’ population declines

Austin Obermeyer, a Ball State architecture graduate student, and four teammates worked with Habitat for Humanity to create a prototype of an urban, single-family home that would create as much energy as it uses and be affordable for the nonprofit to build.

Ball State University graduate student Nathan Edwards of Kokomo researched which golf swings are most likely to cause back pain. His project, “Quantifying Biomechanical Risk Factors for Low Back Pain in Amateur Golfers,” was one of nine winners at Ball State’s Student Symposium this month.

When it comes to the opioids, the United States and nations around the world are well past the crisis point. Our jails are filled, rehab centers are overwhelmed, families are being destroyed and lives are being lost.

Story notes that the fund raiser is one that’s been held across the nation that was brought to Kokomo Urban Outreach organizers by a 2010 Kokomo High School graduate, Kelsey Griffin, now a dietetics major at Ball State.
