Description: This session will look at a brief history of housing at colleges and universities. The presentation pays close attention to the housing history of Ball State University and how this compares to the growth of housing operations at American Universities. The presentation includes a photo history of Ball State’s housing.
Presenter Bio: Matt Kovach serves as the Associate Director for Residential Learning in Ball State’s office of Housing and Residence Life. Matt has been a campus housing professional for 25 years, with 22 of those years at Ball State University. Matt holds a BA in Economics from Grand Valley State University and a MPA from Murray State University. Matt is currently enrolled in Ball State’s higher education doctoral program. Matt takes an interest in learning about the institutions where he has worked, leading to the creation of this presentation, which is a highlight of housing staff training each year.
