Description:  The Muncie Excel Center is a high school for adults aged 17 and up. With robust supports including transportation assistance, life coaching, on-site childcare and connections to local college and career opportunities, the Excel Center model aims to partner alongside students to remove whatever barriers have previously prevented them from finishing their high school diploma and open doors to further education and employment

Presenter Bios:  James Sandburg has been a Life Coach at the Excel Center for 6 years, with previous experience in community advocacy, elementary education, and nonprofit work. James has three children, two dogs, and one wife. He likes asking questions, laughing at silly jokes, watching football and horror movies, reading fiction, and eating a lot constantly.

Tim Horan has been part of the team at Muncie Excel Center for three years. Previously, he has taught at Ball State University, Earlham College, Indianapolis University, Temple College, & the University of Texas at Austin. As an educator, he values curiosity, creativity, and collaboration. Outside the classroom he is: an Avid Hiker, a Genre-Agnostic Reader, a Fairly Attentive Father, a Produced Playwright, and Absent-minded Gardener, a Domestic Husband, A Barely Competent Triathlete, a Lifelong Dabler, a Professional Dilettante.
