Description: Across East Central Indiana, the health and wellbeing of people, land, water, and wildlife are intertwined. The places we protect shape our communities, and the choices our communities make shape the future of those places. Julie will speak about Red-tail’s land latest protection projects, restoration projects, educational programs, and how these outcomes move us toward our long-term vision: a community protecting, restoring, enjoying, and caring for nature.
Presenter: Julie Borgmann is Executive Director of Red-tail Conservancy, as a pharmacist and pharmacy educator affiliated with Purdue, Butler, and Ohio Northern University. After 25 years, Julie decided to follow her passion for connecting people to nature. She began volunteering with Red-tail, became its first Education and Outreach Coordinator in 2015, and was named Executive Director in 2018.
Julie believes environmental health and human wellbeing are deeply connected. Under her leadership, Red-tail has advanced its mission to permanently protect and steward nearly 3,000 acres of forests, prairies, and wetlands for future generations. She also serves as the board President of the Indiana Land Protection Alliance.
