What: A
FREE CPR training session run by Ball State student Mary Kate Phillips using the American Heart Association's Family and Friends curriculum. This two hour, non-certification training will cover the following topics:
- Adult Hands-Only CPR and AED use
- Child Hands-Only CPR and AED use
- Adult and Child Airway block
Each session is limited to twelve participants and, each participant will receive a Family and Friends CPR Student Manual.
When: Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Where: Kinesiology Room HP 305
Why: According to the American Heart Association, more than 436,000 people die from sudden cardiac arrest each year. More than 350,000 of these arrests happen outside of the hospital. CPR, which stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, is a lifesaving procedure that can triple the chance of survival after a cardiac arrest. CPR is a skill everyone should know because you never know when you might need it.
