"Economics on the Hill and at Home"

How will the economy perform in 2024? How will inflation continue to affect businesses and households? Get insight at the 28th annual Indiana Economic Outlook luncheon, sponsored by First Merchants Bank.

This event includes lunch, the 2024 economic forecast, and a keynote presentation by Todd Young, U.S. Senator for Indiana. This event is open to the public, but all attendees must register and pay in advance. No walk-ins will be permitted.

  • Todd Young is a U.S. Senator for the State of Indiana.
  • Michael J. Hicks, PhD is the George and Frances Ball distinguished professor of economics and director of the Center for Business and Economic Research at Ball State.

Registration and Payment can be made online.

  • All attendees MUST register online by Jan. 15, 2024. No walk-ins will be permitted. No registration or payment will be accepted at the door. Price includes event seating and a plated lunch—please select your entrée and specify dietary needs on the registration form.
  • Cancellations: All registration payments are due by January 15, 2024. Should you need to cancel, you must notify us at cber@bsu.edu or 765-285-5926 no later than January 15, 2024. Refunds will be issued for the registration amount minus the card processing fee. No refunds will be granted after January 15, 2024. Alternatively, you may send someone in your place instead of canceling. If doing so, please notify us no later than January 18, 2024.

General Format

The event opens with welcoming comments. Meal service begins, with the program to follow. Experts share predictions for economic performance in the upcoming year. The keynote provides insight into a specific industry or issue. A question-and-answer session concludes the two-hour program.
