About Leo Caldwell

Leo Caldwell is an assistant lecturer of media design. He teaches many of the introductory courses for the media design and development major.

Caldwell's professional journey has been a multifaceted one, encompassing roles as a designer, multimedia producer, and senior editor at Gannett, a prominent media company. However, in 2013, Leo transitioned into the training industry, taking on roles as a developer, project manager, and communications consultant. Simultaneously, Leo has passionately championed LGBTQ+ education and advocacy, making significant contributions to diverse clients such as Monigle, the University of Oregon, and USA TODAY. In addition, Leo works with the Research Institute of Gender Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical nonprofit dedicated to securing FDA approval for a groundbreaking treatment addressing gender dysphoria, as a communication consultant.

Leo's academic journey began in Ball State's School of Journalism and Strategic Communication, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Journalism Graphics in 2009, followed by a Master's degree in Digital Storytelling from the Department of Media in 2016.
