Public and Non-Profit Administration Minor

The public and non-profit administration minor prepares students for leadership careers in domestic and international government agencies and non-profit organizations. Students learn how to manage subordinates and stakeholders, prepare budgets and grants, and implement real-world policies and programs that serve the public good.

This minor describes the theories and practices of public and non-profit administration in the United States and the development, implementation, and evaluation of government policies and programs. Topics include administrative structures themselves and the day-to-day efforts within these organizations across the three core competencies of the discipline, including introduction to Public and Non-Profit Administration, Public and Non-Profit Management, and Grants & Budgets. Students will supplement the core competencies with three elective courses.

Not open to Political Science minors or Political Science majors with concentrations in American Government and Politics or Public and Non-Profit Administration.

While this minor is open to students majoring in any other program, it is open to only one group of Political Science majors: those completing the Global Politics and International Affairs concentration.
