Prepare for a highly demanded profession in mathematical sciences, statistics, actuarial science, data analytics or education.
Majoring in math will prepare you for careers that consistently rank among the highest in terms of employer demand, compensation, and worker satisfaction.
A collaboration between the Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Department of Finance and Insurance in the Miller College of Business, the Center for Actuarial Science, Insurance, and Risk Management conducts groundbreaking research and community projects that connects students with employers. On top of gaining real-world experience, our center connects many of our students with internships and fulltime professional positions after graduation.
The quality instruction you'll receive in the classroom is supported by faculty members who are regularly published and recognized for their research. Our fields of expertise range wide: actuarial science, statistics, geometry, education, and many more.
We also offer a colloquium series every year in which our faculty, graduate students, and advanced undergraduate students gather to listen to the research findings of colleagues in our field. And as an undergrad, you'll have the chance to share your own work through our Mathematics Exchange publication.
