The Honors College offers a range of study abroad opportunities specifically for honors students. Chosen for their vibrant intellectual and creative community, these programs give students the option of full semester study or summer study at a partner university abroad.
In addition, Honors faculty frequently incorporate field study components into their course. Recent colloquia have taken students to England, Ireland, and Mexico City. In 2024, Honors College faculty plan to take students to India and Ghana.
Study Abroad and Study Away

Honors faculty frequently incorporate field study components into their courses, traveling with students over spring break or a summer session. Recent colloquium courses have taken students to England, Ireland, Bosnia, Yellowknife, and Mexico City. In 2024-2025, Honors College faculty plan to take students to India and Disney.

As the seat of political power and home to some of the largest corporations and nonprofits, Washington, DC is a rich city full of culture and exciting urban living. The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars offers Ball State students the opportunity to intern and earn academic credit. You can choose from hundreds of internships and dozens of courses for students of all majors. Learn more.

Your studies abroad will be quite the adventure. Just make sure you earn the proper Ball State credits.
Honors students participating in any study abroad opportunity for credit should consult the Honors College in advance to ensure that all or part of the experience counts toward your graduation requirements.

- Kaleidoscope of Indian: Visit New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur
March 1-9, 2025
Explore the social dynamics of India in a global environment. Students will examine the emerging market of India through the Golden Triangle. It is an enchanting journey from New Delhi, Agra, to Jaipur. It features some of the most extraordinary religious and historical sites in India, including one of the seven wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal. - CAP Japan Go! 2025
May 21-June 8, 2025
A faculty led study abroad program introducing students to the unique urban and social history, architecture, art, and culture of the country of Japan. Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka will be the primary hub cities while a series of day trips will expand the experience for participating students. Interdisciplinary collaboration, cultural exchange, and the unique experience of traveling, living, and interacting in a different culture during the field study will help students place their university education within a global and cross-cultural perspective.
