It is with profound sadness that we report the passing of Dr. Michael P. Brown. Dr. Brown was the Chairperson of the department for the last five years. After earning his Ph.D. from Western Michigan University in 1992, Dr. Brown joined the Ball State Criminal Justice and Criminology Department in 1993 and was a faculty member with the department for 28 years. Under his outstanding leadership and commitment to the Ball State community, the department flourished. He had a tremendous impact on the students he instructed, his colleagues within the department, and the University and Muncie community. He will be sorely missed as a colleague, professor, and friend.
