Annika Vinje has been the Study Abroad Advisor here at Ball State since February 2024. Her role involves advising students on the hundreds of study abroad programs offered at Ball State, as well as helping them navigate the cultural transition and maximize their study abroad/away experiences. Annika has been able to combine her academic foundations and practical expertise to guide students through their study abroad journeys.

Annika experienced firsthand the transformative power of international education when she studied abroad in Amsterdam for a semester while completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Butler University. Her five months abroad motivated her to go back to the Netherlands and pursue a Master of Science degree in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.

These experiences helped her realize the passion she has for getting students out of their comfort zone and into the world. She is dedicated to enhancing the international education experience for students at Ball State. Her goal is to foster cultural competence among students, making sure they have the ability to adapt, communicate, and problem solve using their global mindset, skills that will help students not only on campus but for the rest of their lives.
