The building includes earth-plastered strawbale walls (load-bearing), wood floor and roof framing, high mass fly-ash concrete greenhouse floor, wood windows, glass greenhouse walls, and applied surfaces on the strawbale building interior walls, floor, and ceiling. The building system is energy-efficient due to the high insulation value of strawbale walls, the proportion of N-S : E-W walls, building orientation, roof overhang proportions, and greenhouse floor thermal mass.
