Inspired by Orchids: Ball State Art Students, Fall Show
Nov. 8-30 | Available during ROGH business hours - Enjoy the 2D paper and metals works of undergraduate students progressing in their first and second years of working toward their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree. The exhibition runs from Thursday, November 8 to Friday, November 30, 2018. The opening reception is open to the public and will be held Friday, November 8, 4:00 - 5:00 pm.
Nov. 9 | 11 a.m-2 p.m. - Have you ever wondered where bananas really come from? Join us for an introduction to tropical food plants. Foods will be served! For all ages.
Holiday and Bloom Evening Open House
Dec. 7 | 6-9 p.m. - Experience the Rinard Orchid Greenhouse at night, decorated for the holidays. Concurrent: glass demos and sales at the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass; David Owsley Museum of Art programs; and the Minnetrista Luminaria with MITS Trolley shuttle available. Unlimited attendance.
National Bodhi Day
Dec. 8 - Meditate with us under our very own Bodhi Tree. Bodhi Day is the Buddhist holiday that commemorates the day that the historical Buddha, Siddhartha Guatama (Shakyamuni) experienced enlightenment, also known as bodhi in Sanskrit and Pali. According to tradition, Siddhartha had recently forsaken years of extreme ascetic practices and to sit under a peepal tree and simply meditate until he found the root of suffering and how to liberate oneself from it.
