Model Design/Construction Strategy:
Each test type has different and specific model building requirements and considerations. With careful design, both physical and digital models can be used for multiple test types and to test multiple design alternatives. In addition, each building design proposal and daylighting inquiry presents unique decisions and challenges to prepare models that will appropriately accommodate the desired testing while eliminating undesired, inconsequential and unnecessary areas, influences and details. A model design and construction strategy session is an important and necessary part of every testing project.
Model Construction:
In the case of physical models, with the design, strategy and specifications for the model(s) in place the client may 1.) contract CERES staff to physically construct the daylighting model(s), 2.) elect to build the model(s) in house or 3.) contract with a third party for model construction. Due to complex specific criteria for how the model must be built, digitial models must always be constructed by CERES staff.
