The Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities and Burris Laboratory School are once again receiving national recognition. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked the Indiana Academy (No. 2) and Burris (No. 7) among the top high schools in Indiana in its “2022 Best U.S. High Schools” listing. Both schools are operated by Ball State University’s Teachers College.

Ball State University has been selected by the Institute of International Education (IIE) to receive an IIE American Passport Project grant that will enable 25 students to obtain a U.S. passport and support their study abroad journeys. Ball State is one of 40 institutions in the United States to be selected.

The Entrepreneurship Center at Ball State University has provided four students with pre-seed fund grants to assist in developing and advancing their entrepreneurial ventures. This semester’s winners are Hunter Beale, a senior Entrepreneurship and Innovation major; Emali Grose, a senior Entrepreneurship major; Holden Robinson, a junior Entrepreneurship and Innovation major; and Ani’a Walker, a senior Entrepreneurship major.

Melanie Swihart, assistant teaching professor of Dance at Ball State University, has been selected by Indiana Campus Compact (ICC) as a 2022 recipient of its Emerging Leader in Community Engagement award. The ICC Emerging Leader in Community Engagement award recognizes faculty that demonstrate leadership and innovation in advancing and shaping community engagement across the field and throughout their institution.

Ball State University recently received high marks in the Broadcast Education Association’s (BEA) inaugural School Rankings—Recognition of Institutional Excellence in Media program. Ball State’s College of Communication, Information, and Media (CCIM) placed seventh nationally out of 101 ranked institutions in “2022 Top Winning Overall Programs.” Ball State also placed second in the nation in “Top Winning Sports Programs,” seventh in “2022 Top Winning Documentary Programs,” and 27th in “Top Winning Film & Video Programs.”

Ball State University is once again celebrating its best single day of fundraising ever following the results of Tuesday’s fourth annual One Ball State Day. Preliminary figures indicate the University received more than 7,000 gifts totaling more than $1 million during its annual 24-hour online fundraising event, providing much-needed support to the financial needs of students, faculty and staff, and programs.
