Thomas L. Woltz, FASLA, is the owner and senior principal of Nelson Byrd Woltz Landscape Architects (NBW), an internationally recognized firm with offices in Charlottesville, Virginia, and New York City. He leads the design of parks, cultural landscapes, and public spaces throughout the United States and around the world. Woltz earned degrees in architecture and landscape architecture from the University of Virginia and received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. His work has earned numerous honors, including election to the ASLA Council of Fellows, The Wall Street Journal's Design Innovator of the Year, Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business, the Trust for Public Land's Land for People Award, and the Frederic Church Award. He also serves on the Board of Directors of The Cultural Landscape Foundation.
