Accounting majors are in high demand from public accounting firms to private corporations to government agencies and the quality of our undergraduate and graduate accounting programs is reflected in your degree.

Ball State was the first public institution in Indiana, and is currently one of only 168 in the world, to receive additional special accreditation for its accounting program from AACSB International, the key professional accrediting body for schools of business.

This endorsement among the best business schools in the world reflects our department's high standards of excellence, which are further enhanced by:

  • small class sizes to encourage interaction between students and professors.
  • courses taught by full-time faculty members, more than half of whom have professional certification and doctoral degrees.
  • strong ties to the "real world" accounting community, including internship opportunities, visiting professionals, and our accounting advisory board.
  • recruiting by international Big Four accounting firms, as well as many regional and local CPA firms, private businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Accounting Advisory Board
Students and faculty in the accounting program benefit from the involvement of an accounting advisory board—a group of professionals who represent a cross section of the accounting world, including the corporate community, public accounting, and firms of various sizes.
