Facilities Planning and Management

Facilities Planning and Management creates and maintains facilities for the university community with an emphasis on customer service. Custodians and maintenance crews maintain approximately 2.5 millions square feet of classrooms, labs, offices, and residences daily. Design and construction teams manage approximately $20 million in new construction and major building renovations each year. Engineering and assessment maintains the central power and chill plants, the electrical distribution system, energy use and conservation. Fleet operations provides safe, continuous and cost-effective transportation to the university community by ensuring a centralized area for control of vehicles and vehicle maintenance. Landscape services provides a campus that is safe, pleasant, and supportive of academic pursuits through landscaping, snow removal, and land maintenance.

Located in the Showalter Building at the northwest corner of Tillotson and McGalliard, Facilities Planning and Management's mission is to provide timely, cost-effective quality facilities-related support to the Ball State University community.
