A Welcome from the Department Chair
Thanks for visiting the website of the Department of Educational Psychology at Ball State University. Take a moment to look around at our graduate programs and visit with our faculty.
We offer a Ph.D. degree with two tracks: an APA-approved American Psychological Association Ph.D. track in School Psychology that is nationally ranked in the top ten with respect to faculty publications, graduates who take academic positions, and graduates who publish in school psychology periodicals.
We also offer a Ph.D. track in General Educational Psychology that admits students with interests in human development, learning and cognition, gifted studies and research methods/statistics.
In addition to the Ph.D. doctoral tracks we offer a NASP-accredited M.A./Ed.S. program in school psychology and a M.A. program in educational psychology. BSU offers additional graduate programs in other areas of psychology see Psychological Sciences and Counseling Psychology and Guidance Services
Coursework required for a gifted studies teaching license can also be earned in our department. The entire sequence of courses is available on the online and is open to qualified students who have access to the internet. The Department is the academic home of the Psychoeducational, Diagnositic, and Intervention Clinic and the Neuropsychology Lab. Our research interests are wide-ranging, but include cognition and learning, human development, assessment and measurement, gifted studies, neuropsychology and program evaluation, among others.
As you will see, the Department is active on many fronts; the faculty is collegial, productive, dedicated to teaching and research. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the Department, or about any of our programs.
