Motivating Employees Using Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose () Sponsor: Learning and Development
Prerequisite:   None
Countless scientific studies have proven that once a task becomes even moderately challenging money loses its effectiveness to motivate us. In fact, studies show that bonuses decrease performance once you move past piecework type functions. There are three motivators that drive us to put in longer hours and strive to master a task. These are autonomy, mastery, and purpose. Come ready to play, in this class, Motivating Your Employees, Carrots and Sticks don’t do the trick! We will explore the three motivators and talk about real world applications to move from using carrots and sticks to motivating your staff by understanding what drives self-improvement.
