Knowledge Transfer - Sharing What You Know - Knowing What to Share (LD962) Sponsor: Learning and Development
Prerequisite:   None
Knowledge transfer is the process of sharing knowledge, not just information, between one person and another. Much of what we know we carry around with us -- who has time to write it all down? But then, something changes. The reason may be positive -- a promotion or transfer -- and there's time for a smooth transition. Or, the change may be unexpected and negative -- a sudden illness, accident, or worse. But no matter why, once the person is no longer available, we realize too late how much valuable knowledge the person had. In this session, you'll learn how to share what you know. And, more importantly, you'll learn a process for knowing what to share. Plus, you'll gain some useful tools for capturing what someone else knows in a friendly, non-threatening way, before something unexpectedly changes.
