Planetarium Show Specialist
Rachel Williamson, Planetarium Show Specialist, joined our staff at the start of 2020 with the message, “I have always loved astronomy! It is truly a passion of mine and I want to share my fascination of space and science with everyone.” As a part of her role as Planetarium Show Specialist, she will help schedule and present planetarium shows for school groups and special events, and will help design and update planetarium programs and experiences.
Mrs. Williamson taught science for over 13 years (Mississinewa High School for 7 years and at R.J. Baskett Middle School for 6 years) after getting her BS from Ball State University. She has taught many different classes during her teaching career, including Astronomy, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Integrated Physics & Chemistry, and Anatomy in high school, as well as 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade general sciences, Project Lead The Way: Computer Science for Innovators and Makers, and Project Lead The Way: Robotics and Automation.
Outside of work, she has been with her husband since 1998 and as of November 2018 they have a beautiful little girl. She loves video games, board games, painting, sewing, craft projects, and science fiction shows.
