A scholarship gift totaling more than $120,000 has been contributed by a Ball State University alumna. The support will benefit enrolled students in need of financial aid.
The gift to the General Student Assistance fund is from the estate of Rosemary Gettelman, a 1941 graduate of Ball State with majors in social science and English. She taught school in Valparaiso and also worked for the Department of Navy in Fort Wayne. She previously shared that her reason for leaving this money was an opportunity to "give back." She hoped to help students receive an education as she had a great sense of appreciation for her own education. Gettelman died on November 22, 2007.
Availability of this scholarship is dependent upon an award selection process established by Ball State and its academic departments. For specifics about scholarships available at Ball State, contact the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at 765-285-5600 or visit www.bsu.edu/finaid.
