Dave and Oprah visited the David Letterman Communication and Media Building prior to their conversation at Emens.

More than 3,300 members of the Ball State community--mostly students--packed Emens Auditorium to attend Dave+Oprah. Audience members received T-shirts commemorating the event. The response for the Dave+Oprah conversation was so overwhelming the university opened Pruis Hall and the Student Center Ballroom for audiences to watch the event via a live telecast.

The conversation was inspired and unforgettable, as Oprah spoke extensively about overcoming abuse and hardships in her life to become successful. Dave said of Oprah's story, "This human experience of yours is stunning."

Participants were encouraged to tweet questions to #DaveOprah or to send texts. Many of these questions ended up on blue cards that Dave answered or asked Oprah to answer.
