University Libraries’ Toolbar for Firefox Upgraded Version 4.0 and Higher

The University Libraries’ Firefox Toolbar 3.1.1 add-on is now available for use with Firefox 4.0 or higher Web browser.

The University Libraries’ Firefox toolbar is a powerful research tool providing easy access to CardCat, academic subscription databases, Interlibrary Loan, search tools, and laptop printing services at the Libraries.

The toolbar’s most visible new features are the icons, which are available online under a Creative Commons Attribution license. Other changes include updates to online resource links to reflect changes to the University Libraries’ newly developed Web pages over the summer. A link to the Libraries’ Facebook page has been added under the Services menu.

Toolbar 3.1.1 was created for Firefox 4 and above because Firefox has a new interface style and a new extensions manager. The toolbar’s design matches the Firefox interface. The makers of Firefox are on a new development schedule, in which a major version is released every three months; Toolbar 3.1.1 is good through version 7.

The University Libraries’ Toolbar for Firefox was created and developed by M. Andy West of the University Libraries’ Library Information Technology Services unit.
