Rizzie brought together her love for dance and her passion to inspire young children through the Prism Project, a Saturday afternoon arts program for children with special needs. These children are able to explore theatre, music, and dance in an environment that fosters self-confidence and friendships. The immersive learning experience brings together music and theatre professors with student directors and volunteers from backgrounds including music, theatre education, and special education.
In spring 2013, Rizzie and 19 other students, along with staff, traveled to New Orleans. "We're combining our passion for these children and our love for the arts to help launch a similar program in a very different community."
After student-teaching in Germany, she plans to teach in an urban or inner city setting upon graduation.
