Move in for spring semester is Sunday, January 7, after 9 a.m.

Student hall assignments are emailed via their Ball State University email account during the semester break. New students arriving for Spring semester should plan to arrive at their assigned hall anytime after 9 a.m. on Sunday, January 7. The residence halls will be closed and not available for earlier arrival.

Once you have parked your vehicle, you should check in at the front desk in your residence hall. At the desk you will be given your room assignment, key, and additional information.

Student rooms across campus vary in appearance, but are rectangular and approximately 12' x 16'. All rooms include the following items:

  • beds (most measure 80 inches long)
  • mattress pads
  • desk chairs
  • closets or wardrobes
  • garbage can
  • dresser space
  • bookshelves

Rooms are equipped with both computer and cable TV hookups. Students will need an Ethernet cable or wireless card to connect to the Internet through the Ball State network. If you are not sure what to bring with you view our move in checklist online.

The first meal served by Ball State University Dining for spring semester will be the lunch meal in selected locations.

During the semester, family and friends may contact you by mail or email. When you check in you will receive a mailbox number to facilitate mail delivery. Mail should be addressed as follows:

Admitted students receive an Outlook user name and password for sending and receiving email. If you didn't receive an Outlook email address or have forgotten your account or password, visit the UTS Concierge Desk at Bracken Library. Make sure to take your Ball State ID card with you.
