In an effort to provide opportunities for and assist faculty in obtaining licensure and status as a health service provider in psychology (HSPP) in the state of Indiana, the Counseling Center provides a supervised experience for faculty.

Faculty members from the Departments of Psychological Science, Counseling Psychology or Educational Psychology may apply to gain clinical experience through the Counseling Center. Faculty must have the approval and endorsement of their department chair, completed their doctoral training in an APA approved doctoral program and an APA approved predoctoral internship.

Faculty members will spend a minimum of 10 hours per week working in the center. This time will include intake, individual counseling, group counseling (if desired) and participation in training (if desired). The faculty member will receive 1 hour of individual supervision per week from a staff member who is currently licensed as an HSPP.

When possible and agreed to by the center and the department, a center staff member may trade service for teaching responsibilities with the faculty member. As this is not always possible, these arrangements are made on a semester to semester basis.

Faculty members wishing to apply for this opportunity should contact Brenda Karns, PhD at, 765-285-1277.
