A Field Trip to the StarsPresented live by Dr. Ronald Kaitchuck. There was a time when humans dreamt about flying like the birds. Some people also dreamt of traveling into space to see what the stars were all about. While today we can fly, we are still unable to make cosmic trips to the stars. But we can do the next-best thing; we can use telescopic images and the planetarium’s projection technology to simulate travel to amazing places. Join us in the Brown Planetarium for a cosmic field trip to see giant stars that dwarf the Sun, places where stars are being born and the remnants of those that died long ago. You will fly through clusters of thousands of stars and see some bizarre planets. Finally, we will explore the mysteries of the black hole at the center of our galaxy.
