Michael Eric Dyson

MLK Speaker Series presents Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, "Dr. King for the 21st Century."

In addition to teaching at Georgetown and writing for renowned publications like The New York Times, ESPN and The New Republic, Dyson has authored 19 books examining the unresolved dilemma of current day racism. His 1994 book “Making Malcolm: The Myth and Meaning of Malcolm X” was named one of the most important African-American books of the 20th Century and was also named a Notable Book of the Year by The New York Times.

For his writing and leadership, Dyson has been honored with an American Book Award and two NAACP Image Awards. Ebony magazine cited him as one of the 100 most influential African-Americans.
