Undergraduate Research, Scholarship,

and Creativity!

Support Undergraduate Student Research, Creative Works, and Scholarship at Ball State

The critical role of student research and creative endeavors is recognized in the Ball State University mission statement:

"We engage students in educational, research, and creative endeavors that empower our graduates to have fulfilling careers and meaningful lives enriched by lifelong learning and service, while we enhance the economic,           environmental, and social vitality of our community, our state, and our world.”

We ask you to join us in supporting Ball State’s students in performing research, scholarship, and creative works and learning how to present their work to a broad audience, such as potential employers. Consider supporting several of our initiatives that focus on providing our undergraduates with opportunities to learn valuable skills in the lab or studio and to present their work to an audience.

The Teacher-Scholar Program

In this program, mentors collaborate with undergraduate student researchers, artists, and scholars from all departments, majors, and academic disciplines. These students receive a $750 stipend, transferable skills, and the opportunity to make meaningful discoveries.

Your contribution will ensure student scholars and artists in every college have resources to advance the Ball State Mission “to enhance the economic, environmental, and social vitality of our community, our state, and our world.”

The Student Symposium at Ball State University:

For 28 years, Sponsored Projects Administration has hosted the annual Student Symposium at Ball State University. This campus-wide, scholarly event is an opportunity for students from Ball State, Burris Laboratory, and the Indiana Academy to showcase a variety of creative exhibits and presentations. This important event challenges students to present their work while competing for scholarship awards and gaining valuable insight from faculty and staff judges. The event is open to the public and exemplifies the University's commitment to excellence in education.

Since 2015, the Student Symposium has provided an opportunity for over 1,500 Ball State students to showcase their research and creative endeavors. To learn more about this important event, you can visit our website. We invite everyone to attend this year's Symposium on Tuesday, April 11, 1-4 pm, at Worthen Arena.
