September 6, 2018 10:30 p.m.Location: Emens Auditorium
Ball State's official kickoff to celebrate our Centennial will be Sept. 6, 2018 at Emens Auditorium. Doors open and the red carpet preshow begins at 6:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m. the student-produced Centennial documentary, "From Normal to Extraordinary: Ball State's First Century," premieres with live accompaniment by the Ball State Symphony Orchestra. After the film, the celebration continues outside with live music, food trucks and giveaways on Riverside Avenue. Our Centennial Celebration recognizes the enduring values our University is committed to—excellence, integrity, social responsibility, respect, and gratitude—as symbolized by our iconic Beneficence statue.
Free tickets are available at the Emens box office or by calling 765-285-1539.
For Ball State University’s Centennial Celebration Kickoff on September 6, Riverside Avenue will be closed between McKinley Avenue and Dicks Street from 6-11 p.m. However, patrons may be dropped off in the circle drive at Emens if they approach the auditorium from the east. We recommend parking in the McKinley Parking Garage, just south of the Music Instruction Building. For safety during the fireworks show, Campus Drive (near the Bracken Administration Building) will close at 6 that evening. Download parking map.
