Description:
This program will detail the experiences of Alice “Gay” Nation in her time serving as a Senior Sales Executive at Paws, Incorporated, the worldwide headquarters for Jim Davis’ comic sensation, Garfield the Cat, for 23 ½ years. This work took her all over the world and introduced her to countless interesting people and experiences, many of which she will share with the group.
Presenter:
Gay Nation
Alice began with Paws in 1993 as Director of Apparel, where she was responsible for building a licensing program for Garfield apparel and accessories. Her success led to her position as Director of Sales, where she oversaw the development of new business partners in all categories of licensing, from co-branded private-label goods to kids’ meal promotions with major fast-food corporations and everything in between.
Ms. Nation traveled extensively throughout the world and secured a large network of contacts and clients in the U.S., Europe, the Pac Rim, and South America. She successfully translated licensing successes to foreign markets by working with Garfield master agents who were located in major business centers worldwide. Within one year of her hands-on involvement with the master agents for Brazil, business revenues increased by over a million dollars.
